IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT IN WRITING RECOUNT TEXT BY USING PICTURE SEQUENCE AT FIRST GRADE STUDENTS SMP NEGERI 35 MEDAN
Abstract
The instrument for collecting data were recount writing test, observation sheet, and interview sheet. The techniques for data analysis were quantitative. It was found that teaching-learning process ran well. Students were active, enthusiastic and interested on writing procedure text. The result of this study showed that the use of Picture Sequence significantly improved students achievement on writing recount text. The result of the analysis showed that there was a improvement on the students’ ability in writing of recount text. It is showed from the mean of the pre test was 74,85. The percentage of the students score up to 40%. The data indicated that use Picture Sequence to improving the students’ achievement in writing of recount text have been improved by using Picture Sequence.
